Perfect Start to the Holiday Season!

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday of the year. It is better than my birthday, Christmas, or any three-day-weekend we have throughout the year. Thanksgiving is the time for my family to converge on Southern California, spending time with cousins that have been stationed in the middle east, visiting grandparents who we have not seen since last Christmas and giving thanks for the wonderful year we had and special family we are with.
Along with a wonderful time spent with the family, I always try to make sure that we have the right wines to accompany my mothers beautiful dinner. With the strong portfolio of wines created here at Cornerstone, there are three wines that I am bringing to our table this year that I believe will highlight any side dish and turkey dinner.
First our 2010 Stepping Stone Riesling is the perfect white wine for Thanksgiving Dinner. Our dry Riesling has subtle notes of citrus, apricot, and pear, along with its clarifying acidity will compliment stuffings with dried fruits, all vegetable sides and green bean casserole.
Another white that will pair perfectly with Thanksgiving Dinner is our 2011 Stepping Stone Corallina Rosé. Our Provencal-style dry rosé has bright aromatics of strawberries and spice. This will go excellent with your favorite cranberry sauce, & sweet potatoes.
I am also bringing the 2009 Cornerstone Oregon Willamette Valley Pinot Noir to my Thanksgiving table. Lighter in body, any pinot noir will pair best with any poultry dish over a bold Cabernet Sauvignon. Our Pinot Noir, with notes of cherry and raspberry, along with subtle earthy undertones, blackberry and mocha will pair perfectly with traditional flavors of turkey and stuffing.
This year, we are going to post on our Cornestone Facebook Page some of our favorite Thanksgiving recipes! I hope you have a chance to create these recipes for yourself, and don't forget to grab a bottle of Cornerstone Oregon Pinot Noir, or Stepping Stone Riesling to compliment your Thanksgiving dinner this year.
Cheers!
Allison
